Cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds found in the Cannabis sativa plant. Cannabidiol, one of the most common cannabinoids, also known as CBD, makes up 40% of the plant resin extract and produces effects in the human body by attaching itself to certain receptors. The human body also produces cannabinoids of its own, and it has two receptors for cannabinoids, called CB1 and CB2 receptors. All cannabinoids, including CBD, produce effects in the body by attaching to certain receptors.
The CB1 receptor is predominantly found in the brain and impacts our coordination, movement, pain, emotions, thinking, appetite, memory, and other functions. CB2 receptors are more common in the immune system and affect inflammation and pain.
When CBD is introduced to the body, it is believed to interact with these receptors, encouraging our bodies to produce more of their own cannabinoids. This in turn leads to our body achieving homeostasis (equilibrium).

The Entourage Effect
Cannabidiol (CBD) is only one of more than 100 identified compounds in the hemp plant. While most of these compounds have individual therapeutic benefits, when taken together, they provide a better overall result than any single compound can on its own. This is known as the entourage effect, and it’s exactly why we use the whole plant to make our full-spectrum products.
Delivering the Goods
The potency of full-spectrum products. doesn’t stop there. Anecdotal evidence suggests that using the whole plant increases the working power of every benefit—pain relief, lowered stress, and overall strength and health, to name a few. Whole hemp extract is packed with nutrients including: Vitamins: A, C, and E, along with complex B vitamins such as niacin, riboflavin, and thiamine. Minerals: Zinc, potassium, iron, calcium, and phosphorus. Protein: which helps repair and build tissue. Amino Acids: including omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, which promote better heart health.
